Quick answer
New York: Estimate New York State withholding, New York City resident tax, Yonkers resident or nonresident withholding, Paid Family Leave, and optional Disability Benefits deductions. This calculator keeps IT-2104 elections separate from the federal W-4 and applies local or employee-program deductions only when the required residence, work, or plan facts are confirmed.
How the New York estimate works
Enter gross pay for one pay period, federal W-4 adjustments, and the state details shown above. Federal withholding follows Publication 15-T. New York State and New York City use the published Method II pay-period tables after the separate IT-2104 allowances are applied. Yonkers, applicable Paid Family Leave contributions, and optional Disability Benefits follow their own published methods.
Example: For a biweekly entry, the calculator selects the biweekly Method II deductions and table columns. It does not substitute the federal W-4 filing status or allowances for IT-2104 values. The calculator does not assume any unentered benefit deduction or invent a tax result.
Weekly, biweekly, semimonthly, and monthly are the supported paycheck frequencies. “Annual salary” is an earnings input and the annual view is a simple period multiplication; neither is an annual payroll-period method. The special Form W-4 adjustment for nonresident aliens is not modeled.
